Career Quest Niche Networking Workshop:

The following is a summary of the Career Quest event which was held September 28-30, 3007:

Recent surveys show that over 52 million Americans (not counting the mature traveler) have some form of disability. If you combine the mature traveler and the disabled traveler, you have enormous group of people with disposable income and time to travel. So why aren’t you tapping this market?

Most travel agents will admit that they shy away from the disabled and mature traveler because they are unsure of how to approach this market and even more concerned that they will overlook or fail to book the right travel product which could put the traveler in jeopardy.

This was a great opportunity for travel agents who would like to increase their business and focus on a rewarding market. Career Quest presented "The World of Accessible Travel" in Port Canaveral, Florida for a three-day workshop, September 28-30, 2007.

The Workshop Curriculum will included:

Introduction to the Disability Market

Disability Awareness & Etiquette

Marketing to the Disabled Traveler

Ways to Promote your Home Based Business

Supplier Presentations featured:

Holland America’s Access to Excellence

RCCL’s Accessibility Onboard with Ship Inspection and lunch aboard the Mariner of the Sea

Bonus: Earn your Accessible Travel Lifestyle Specialist Designation from the Travel Institute. All attendees will receive a copy of the Travel Institute’s Accessible Travel and have the opportunity to test on Sunday morning prior to the ship inspection. Fees for the book and test are included in the workshop tuition.
