Microtel Receives 'Eagle' Award From Disability Rights Advocates.

Microtel Inns & Suites Receives Eagle Award From Disability Rights Advocates
ATLANTA (Dec. 14, 2006) -Disability Rights Advocates (DRA), the national
disability law center whose mission is to defend and advance the rights of
people with disabilities, has presented its ninth annual Eagle Award to
Microtel Inns & Suites, the all-newly constructed chain of budget/economy
hotels. Microtel received the distinction for excellence in providing
accessible lodging for travelers with disabilities and for making a
significant contribution to the advancement of people with disabilities.

"Microtel was strongly recommended by the disability community for its
excellence in service and dedication to providing accessibility and
accommodations for people with all types of disabilities," said Larry
Paradis, Executive Director of DRA. "Microtel's efforts help further the
progress that has been made in integrating people with disabilities into our
world. Microtel has gone above and beyond to assure that the needs people
with disabilities are met and that they are treated with respect."

DRA also cited Microtel for its Opening Doors® program, which provides all
staff with training in disability awareness and customer service. Opening
Doors, developed by W.C. Duke Associates of Woodford, Va., emphasizes
disability etiquette skills training that includes interactive activities
and role playing using wheelchairs, blindfolds, earplugs and taped hands for
employees to practice how to service customers with disabilities.

"Microtel is honored to receive the DRA's prestigious Eagle award and to be
recognized for our commitment to accommodating travelers with disabilities,"
said Roy E. Flora, Chief Operating Officer for US Franchise Systems, Inc.
(USFS), parent company of the franchisor of the Microtel Inns & Suites hotel
brand. "We continue to be committed to providing this rapidly-growing
market segment with quality, accessible hotel accommodations, and with a
service culture prepared to make their stay with us an enjoyable
experience."

Microtel Inns & Suites offers three ADA-room designs throughout the hotel
chain, and a consistency of services to fit guests' needs. In order to
better serve travelers with disabilities, Microtel now provides 'Access
Microtel' pamphlets, 'Accessible Fitness' bags for guests to check-out and
use in their room, and Upper Body Ergometers for guests with special needs.
The Upper Body Ergometer, which offers a variety of options for upper body
cardiovascular conditioning to complement a daily work-out, is located in
every Microtel hotel with a fitness center on-site.

Microtel is a sponsor of the Society for Accessible Travel & Hospitality
(SATH), and annually participates in the World Congress & Exposition on
Disabilities. The brand is proactively involved in several other
initiatives that target the needs of travelers with disabilities such as the
Ohio Wheelchair Softball League, Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania, and the United
Spinal Association which recognizes Microtel hotels nationwide as preferred
travel partners with United Spinal's ABLE to Travel program.

While DRA's Eagle awards are presented to businesses and organizations that
demonstrate progressive policies, practices or attitudes and give people
with disabilities the equal treatment they deserve, there are also "Turkey"
awards. The Turkeys are for entities that demonstrate enormous
insensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities and impede their
progress in employment, education, health care, transportation or social
integration. Both Eagle and Turkey awardees are nominated by the disability
community.
