Letter from a professional member of SATH - Participation at Seminars / workshops

Hello –

The presentation on Accessible Travel for the Disabled was accepted by the members and guests with much gratitude. I showed a slide show of our meetings in 2004 and 2005 while they ate. Then did my presentation with slides and discussed the importance of learning for each travel consultant. I paused so they could read the ADA requirements listed and looked over the room. Every person was watching and reading and there was no “small talk” any where in the room. We had at least 50 people and this time I collected each one’s card. I am sending them to for reference and contact for membership. I feel we should get at least 5 new members from this group. Annie Henson (afantasy@sbcglobal.net), President of the Houston CTO Chapter, is also an Urologist Therapist and since she has retired from the hospital, she is doing out of the Country seminars for the Urologists and doctors. She told me she would join and come to SATH in January.

There were 4 gentlemen who have formed Vacations To Go. Apparently it is like mini consortia with several agencies. Emerson Hankamer, President COO, R. Alan Fox, Chairman CEO, Joe Reuth, VP, came to me after the meeting and I gave them last year’s program book. They are extremely interested and have asked if I would do the presentation for their group.

Anyway – I handed out membership sheets, SATH mission, and Travel Institute order form for the Accessible Travel Designation. Some questions and feed back on the floor, but many personal visits before I had to head back to the airport.

Take care and keep me posted of all the news.
