LINCOLN CITY ADDRESSES ISSUES FOR TRAVELERS WITH DISABILITIES

Lincoln City, OR -- The Lincoln City Visitor & Convention Bureau has added a page to their website (www.oregoncoast.org) to assist travelers with disabilities.  Many of us have or have traveled with others who have disabilities.  Simply saying a business is ADA compliant doesn’t always help much, since every individual has different issues.  This page addresses many of the nuances, like whether or not the openings accommodate a wheelchair but not a scooter or if there is a visual alarm system in the room.

Although the Bureau has consulted people who have those disabilities in structuring the page, it is a work in progress.  Those with helpful information are encouraged to visit www.oregoncoast.org, click on the “Accessibility Resources” icon on the home page and submit ideas and information so the page can be a useful resource for everyone.

Lincoln City, located on the central Oregon Coast, is a scenic two-hour drive from the Portland International Airport.  For free visitor information, contact the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau at (800) 452-2151, (541) 996-1274, FAX (541) 994-2408, visit our web site www.oregoncoast.org or email us at events@lincolncity.org.
