SATH IBERO-AMERICAN SYMPOSIUM
SATH IBERO-AMERICAN SYMPOSIUM
Lima, 8 - 11 October, 2003
Venue : JW Marriott Hotel & Stellaris Casino
1. Introduction
In 1998 Peru started a project aimed at getting all kinds of tourism establishments to make their installations more accessible to people with disabilities, specially tourists. This has meant that this country has become a leader in the continent as regards promoting tourism for the disabled. As a follow up, and in view of the fact that 2003 has been declared as the Year of the Rights of the Disabled, we are organizing the Sath Ibero-American Symposium. Representatives of Ibero-American countries shall come together for purposes of establishing a dialogue with specialized tourism operators with a view to adopting continental policies to further our objectives.
We want this Symposium to turn into a window of opportunities for the development of tourism by the disabled, while concurrently sharing with you our Nations millenary past, its historical and cultural riches and the attractiveness of its regions.
It will be a pleasure to welcome you!
