DILLI HAAT BECOMES BARRIER FREE!

New Delhi: Celebrating its 9th Birthday this open-air crafts Bazaar has become the first barrier free tourist spot in the country. Ramps, railings sand modified flooring all address the needs of the people with disabilities. Dilli Haat provides an inexpensive venue to craftsmen to showcase and sell their crafts. Besides the opportunity to buy directly from the craftsperson,it gives the visitors a taste of Indian regional cuisine ranging from delicacies of Kashmir to Bengal to Sikkim to local Delhi food. Over these nine years 50,000 artisans have showcased their wares and visitors have enjoyed their visits to the Haat, which has also become a throbbing cultural spot. At least one cultural activity takes place every month. Dilli Haat has become very popular with tourists and locals.
