Accessible Barcelona

Accessible Barcelona has been providing hotel reservations, tours, equipment hire, advice and information for people with disabilities since 2004. We have served the needs of people with disabilities that have traveled to Barcelona from countries throughout Europe and beyond including the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan. We also work with Specialist Travel Agents providing holidays to disabled people from across Europe, the USA and Canada.

Through Accessible Barcelona we began receiving many enquiries for pre and post cruise accommodation, transfers and accessible city tours. In the autumn of 2006 we had a request from a client that required shore excursions in Valencia, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. He was traveling with his wife and sister-in-law and wanted the same guide for all 3 shore excursions. After a lot of research we flew our guide between the three cities to provide three full days of guided accessible shore excursions in an adapted vehicle. The client was so pleased with our services that he brought his entire family back to Barcelona in the summer of 2007 for a full day’s accessible shore excursion in an adapted urban bus.

This experience, amongst others, lead to the establishment of Accessible Cruise Tours. This website provides information and services to Specialist Travel Agents and disabled and elderly individuals that require shore excursions, transfers pre and post cruise accommodation in Barcelona, Valencia and Palma de Mallorca.

Through Accessible Cruise Tours we have supplied city tours and shore excursions to many clients from various countries with differing needs.

For the last 6 months or so, I’ve been working on providing shore excursions on a larger scale by providing fixed prices on accessible group excursions for people with disabilities using large accessible vehicles in addition to the smaller vehicles for individual families of up to 3 people that we already use.

The end result is that Accessible Cruise Tours can now provide a 3.5 hour panoramic accessible group tour for up to 6 wheelchair users and 6 companions in one adapted urban vehicle. The tours pick up and drop off the clients at their ship and  take in the main sights of interest in Barcelona including; modernist architecture, the Gaudí church “La Sagrada Familia” before crossing the city to climb Montju?c to see the Olympic Stadium and the Catalan Palace. The tours are available in various languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French all for just 75€ per person (other languages also available at an extra cost).
