The Parapan American athletes discover Machu-Picchu

Back in August 2019, the Para-Panemerican games were held at Lima-Peru between August 23rd to September 1st 2019. This event gathered athletes from all the Americas, who trained really hard through out the year to give their best performance during the competition.

At Lima 2019, there was 17 sports to compete at, which made this evento the biggest Parapan American Games ever

During this time there were many activities, shows, events that took place around the Inca capital. Different activities can be arranged, such as a walk through Lima´s boardwalk, which is totally accessible, an excellent meal at one of the many peruvian restaurants and of course a sunset at a cozy bar enjoying the company of locals.

We were approached by some of the athletes who had an interest to explore beyond Lima, specifically to Cusco, Sacred Valley and of course Machu-Picchu. We were delighted to be parto f their adventure, as we organzied a day tour

Discovering the Sacred Valley of the Incas

Day began with an early pick up from hotel. We continued to board the train which rode along the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We came up and down in altitude until we reached Aguas Calientes town. Here we were gather by our staff who assisted us to board the bus which took us through a steep road towards the entrance of the archeological complex.

Once at Machu Picchu, we used our off road chairs, which with the assistance of our trained staff, allowed us to go into the citadel. The feeling you get once you enter the archeological complex is hard to describe, as it is an overwhelming sensation of peace, joy and happiness.

Once inside the citadel, we are able to learn the way Incas lived, traditions and costumes. After we visit the complex, we had an excellent buffett lunch at the only restaurant located right at the entrance of the complex. When we finished our meal, we took the bus back down towards Aguas Calientes, where we had an excellent time enjoying this cozy little town, filled with handicrafts, shops and traditions.

At the end of the day we returned by train to Sacred Valley and finally to our hotel
I believe it is important to share literally what clients had to say about the tour:

Latin America for All arranged an accessible tour to Machu Picchu for a group of 4 women in wheelchairs that also included 3 able bodied family members. It was a magical time for all! From the moment I contacted them, the marketing coordinator, Juan, worked with me every step of the way to make sure he understood the needs of each group member. He patiently and easily adapted to changes in the number of group members, location of the start of the tour, arranging pick up and drop off at two sites, worked with more than one person making arrangements to ensure every thing was perfectly arranged. A team member (Liz) even met us at the airport in Cusco to deliver tickets, go over details and she even helped us with our car rental!! Everything went perfectly without a single hiccup and of course, Machu Picchu was breathtaking! This is more than a travel agency, they are true professionals!

Cheers to an amazing day tour experience to one of wonders of the world
